Coaching Is Not Therapy

Professional coaching is a distinct service from psychotherapy, counseling, mental health treatment, or medical care. Coaching focuses on present circumstances, future goals, and personal or professional development. It does not diagnose, treat, or address mental health conditions, psychological disorders, trauma, or medical issues of any kind.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, symptoms of a psychological disorder, or any medical concern, please seek the support of a licensed mental health professional or qualified medical provider. Coaching is not a substitute for that care.

Nature of the Coaching Relationship

The coaching relationship is a collaborative partnership. As your coach, Kimberly Bedford-Richardson will work with you to explore your goals, perspectives, and options — but the decisions you make and the actions you take are entirely your own. Coaching does not involve giving advice, directing your choices, or guaranteeing specific outcomes.

Results from coaching vary by individual. No specific outcome, result, or level of progress is promised or implied by engaging in coaching services.

Energy Leadership™ Index Assessment

The Energy Leadership™ Index (ELI) is an attitudinal assessment developed by iPEC Coaching. It is designed to support self-awareness and personal development. The ELI is not a psychological evaluation, clinical assessment, or diagnostic tool. Results reflect self-reported attitudes and perceptions at a point in time and should not be interpreted as a clinical or psychological profile.

The ELI and its debrief are offered as a coaching tool to support reflection and growth. They are not a substitute for professional psychological assessment or mental health evaluation.

Confidentiality

Information shared during coaching conversations is treated as confidential in accordance with professional coaching ethics and the terms of any applicable coaching agreement. Specific confidentiality terms, including any legally required exceptions, will be discussed and agreed upon before a coaching engagement begins.

Professional Credentials

Kimberly Bedford-Richardson holds a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) credential and an Energy Leadership™ Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP) certification, both issued by the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). These credentials reflect completion of iPEC's accredited coach training program. They do not constitute licensure as a mental health professional, therapist, or medical provider.

Coaching outcomes depend on many factors, including your engagement, effort, and individual circumstances. Nothing on this website or in any coaching communication constitutes a guarantee, warranty, or promise of specific results. Testimonials or examples, if shared, reflect individual experiences and are not representative of what every client will experience.
